Cowichan Bay is very eclectic, with many shops, restaurants, and pubs along the water.  Mill Bay/Cobble Hill is a good commuter home for people working  in Victoria. Chemainus is known for murals, but is also known for it's scuba diving. On January 14, 2006, The Artificial Reef Society of British Columbia, carefully placed the world’s only de-commissioned 737 artificial reef in the waters near Chemainus.  It is named The Xihwu (pronounced key' quot) which is the Hul'qumi'num (local First Nations) word for Red Sea Urchin. 

I live in Crofton which is referred to as a quaint little seaside village.
